A dominating performance from Emerson Etem wasnt enough to beat the Victoria Royals. . Hayden Rintoul scored his second goal of the game with 24 seconds left as the Royals overcame Etems four-goal night and beat the Medicine Hat Tigers 5-4 in Western Hockey League action Friday. Etem, the WHL leader with 11 goals, dominated the game. But Victoria scored three times in the third, including two power-play goals, to seal the victory. Etem could have added a fifth goal, but he missed on a penalty shot in the second period. Etem started his goal-scoring tear with a short-handed goal 3:55 into the first period in the first period. Soudek then tied the game with his fifth goal of the year while killing a Medicine Hat penalty, firing a wrist shot past Tigers goalie Tyler Bunz. An early second-period fight between Tiger Adam Rehak and Royal Tim Traber set the tone for a penalty-filled game. Rintoul got his first goal on the power play to briefly put the Royals up 2-1, but a pair of Etem goals put the Tigers back in the lead. The Royals scored two quick power play goals early in the third to take the lead 4-3. Nelson got his sixth goal on a wraparound, while fellow rookie Crooks got his fifth. Etem added his fourth goal in the third on a Tigers man advantage to tie the game at four. Rintouls boomer from the point in the last minute of the game was the difference for Victoria.
