BRATISLAVA, Slovakia -- Vladimir Vujtek will be the coach of Slovakias national hockey team. The 64-year-old Vujtek is the first Czech to coach the team and the second foreigner. Canadas Glen Hanlon was fired after the teams poor performance at the ice hockey world championship earlier this year. The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation says Vujtek has a contract through the end of 2012, but it will be extended through 2014 if Slovakia qualifies for Sochi Olympics. Vujtek has never coached a national team. In 2002 and 2003, he won Russias KHL with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. He was also in charge of another Russian club, Bars Kazan, and several Czech clubs. Even when hes pretending. "Honestly, Im going to say no," Ryan said when asked if he had discussed this weeks personal motivation with his players. "Honestly, I havent talked about it. Honestly, I dont know how that got out there." How about dishonestly? "Ive addressed a few things," said Ryan, the twin brother of New York Jets coach Rex Ryan. Ryan says Sundays game at Cowboys Stadium is personal for a pretty simple reason. He didnt think two years was enough to try to turn a franchise that has now missed the playoffs nine straight years and reached the post-season just twice since 1990. To him, it doesnt really matter that Clevelands ownership and front office changed in midseason, and that more changes are likely in the off-season. Thats not exactly what Dallas had in mind when Ryan brought an attacking style to go with his boisterous and demonstrative sideline behaviour, but this year has been better. The Cowboys harassed Manning and held him to 190 passing yards despite losing 29-24 in the first game after defensive leader Sean Lee was lost to a season-ending toe injury.
