WASHINGTON , Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Thursday that the Trump administration will release a more detailed tax reform plan by the end of September.


"The House and the Senate are now socializing the plan with their members," Mnuchin said in an interview with CNBC, adding the detailed plan will be released to the public by the end of September.


While the administration has missed the August timeline he originally set for tax reform, Mnuchin said they're on track to get tax reform legislation through Congress by the end of this year.


"It's going to go through a process, and we expect the House and the Senate will get this to the president to sign this year [url=http://www.atleticomadridfootballpro.com/Women-Jose-Gimenez-Atletico-Madrid... Mnuchin's remarks comes after President Donald Trump on Wednesday pushed Congress to pass a comprehensive measure to overhaul the tax code.


"I am fully committed to working with Congress to get this job done, and I don't want to be disappointed by Congress," Trump said in a speech in Springfield, Missouri.


The Trump administration in April released a one-page principles of the long-awaited tax reform plan , but many policy details remain undecided.


Mnuchin on Thursday also urged Congress to raise the nation's debt ceiling in coming weeks as the Hurricane Harvey aid needs more government spending.


"We obviously have now the hurricane spending, which is an issue. So that's going to have some impact on our September spending," he said, adding it could bring forward the debt ceiling deadline by a couple of days.


Mnuchin told lawmakers in July that the Treasury's cash could only fund the government operations through Sept. 29.

KIEV, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine is ready to consider the deployment of United Nations peacekeeping troops in the conflict-hit eastern region of Donbas, according to Ukraine's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.


"We believe that the deployment of the UN peacekeeping operation can contribute to restoring peace and security in the east of Ukraine," it said in a statement.


At the same time , the ministry said the presence of international peacekeeping forces in Donbas is possible only after extensive consultations with Kiev and if certain conditions are met.


Kiev demands the withdrawal of foreign troops and weapons from Ukraine and the restoration of its control over the Ukraine-Russia border, it said in the statement in response to a proposal made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.


Earlier in the day, Putin said Russia may ask the United Nations to send peacekeepers to the frontline area in eastern Ukraine in order to ensure the safety of international observers, who monitor a cease-fire.


Previously, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has repeatedly voiced his support for a possible international peacekeeping operation in the conflict area.

BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated a level III emergency response on Saturday for the approaching Typhoon Mawar.


The headquarters urged local authorities to take precautions and dispatched eight work teams to the provinces of Guangdong, Fujian , Hainan, Jiangxi and Hunan and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to prepare aid and relief.


Typhoon Mawar, the 16th typhoon this year, is expected to make landfall in the coastal areas of south China on Sunday, according to a statement from the headquarters.
