Following a painful loss against defending champion De La Salle University the last time out, the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws showed no mercy in their next game on Sunday.The Tamaraws vented their ire on a woefully undermanned University of Santo Tomas (UST) squad, 96-70, to hike their record to 5-4 in the UAAP Season 80 men's basketball tournament at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

It was a wire-to-wire win for the Tamaraws, who led 29-16 at the end of the opening frame, then further pounded on the Growling Tigers in the second period en route to a 53-27 halftime lead.A lay-up by Axel Iñigo with 7:45 left in the third quarter gave FEU its biggest lead, 66-30. The Tamaraws' second unit gave UST even more problems, with Wendell Comboy and Kenneth Tuffin knocking down back-to-back three-pointers for an 81-46 lead at the end of the third period.
With the fourth quarter serving essentially as garbage time, FEU's third-stringers got some minutes with players like Alex Stockton, Joseph Nunag, and Brandey Bienes all getting on the scoring act.
As a team, FEU shot 52.11% from the field, including 12-of-26 from beyond the arc. They translated UST's 23 turnovers to 27 points, and registered 27 assists in the game in a display of teamwork and unselfishness.
