Saina Nehwal stormed into the semi-finals of the Badminton World Championships as Jason Motte Womens Jersey she beat Scotland's Kirsty Gilmour 21-19, 18-21, 21-15 in the women's singles quarter-finals at Glasgow late on Friday night.
The 2015 Jakarta World Championships silver medallist assured herself of a bronze medal as she outclassed Gilmour with an impressive deceptive display in an hour and 14 minutes.

Saina with some good angled play opened up an 8-5 lead only for Gilmour to use her jump smash at the right moments to catch up with Saina and make it 8-8.
Gilmour upped her game and used angles to make Saina move around the court for each shot and staged a remarkable comeback taking six straight points after equalising to make it 14-8.

Gilmour hit right back at Saina and took control of the rallies to extend her lead to 16-12.
Just like she always does, Saina Nehwal fought back and used the drift and stayed patient through the rallies to take it to 16-17.

The second game remained extremely tight till Gilmour managed to target Saina's movement once more and went into the break with an 11-9 lead.Gilmour used her physical strength and agility well to force Saina closer to the net and raced ahead to 13-9.
Saina continued her progression though Gilmour kept targetting the corners and maintained her lead at 18-12.

A beautiful return from Saina into the deep corner to Gilmour's serve gave her the match point. Gilmour saved two match points before Saina wrapped up the match and assured herself of a bronze medal.
Saina will next face Nozomi Okuhara, who beat Carolina Marin 21-18, 14-21, 21-15 on the court beside Saina.
India are now assured of two bronze medals after PV Sindhu earlier crushed Sun Yu of China 21-14, 21-9. Sindhu will be up against 19-year-old Chinese Chen Yufei, who won the Junior World Championships last year and beat Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand 14-21, 21-16, 21-12 to reach the semi-finals.
