About Hollywood Records
Hollywood Records is a record label owned by the Walt Disney Company. It mainly focuses on pop music, although they do include some metalcore and alternative metal bands. The label was started in 1989 and initially distributed by Elektra Records in the US and Canada until 1995 when distribution switched to PolyGram (which became Universal Music Group in 1998.)
Hollywood Records also releases many film soundtracks from films made by Disney or Disney-owned film studios.
Together with Lyric Street Records, Mammoth Records and Walt Disney Records, it is as of 2008 part of the Disney Music Group.
