The Germans went up 3-1 when Nikolai Goc hammered a shot from the point past Caron. Switzerland edged Slovakia 3-2 in the other round-robin game. Canada will play Slovakia on Saturday. The Canadian team roster is comprised of players in European pro leagues. There is no playoff format at the tournament.
