Five ways Wholesale NFL Jerseys to improve the NFL draft

The NFL draft begins Thursday night. For The Win looks at five easy ways to improve the television viewing experience.

ESPN and NFL Network have vowed to stop tipping picks this year, which will come as a great disappointment to both Chris Berman and the television reporters who act like coming up with a name 15 seconds before Commissioner Roger Goodell announces it makes them Bob Woodward. There nothing to stop reporters from other outlets from tipping picks, however. If Jay Glazer hears about an impending selection or your local newspaper beat reporter has a source, they likely tweet it. Blame the NFL. You know why Entertainment Weekly orNikki Finke isn reporting the Best Picture winner before Jack Nicholson reveals it? Because the Academy keeps that news secret! That why they have those guys from the accounting firm with the suitcase handcuffed to their wrist. The draft is a television show. Treat it like one. When there is a rare negative comment about a player, it counterbalanced by effusive praise. (Example, Geno Smith may have tape but has you want to see in a franchise quarterback. That not a knock on Mayock. It symptomatic of all draft analysis.

The NFL draft is the most optimistic day on the football calendar. Fans are full of hope that this pick will become their franchise RGIII or Brian Urlacher. But it just as likely to be a Cade McNown or Vernon Gholston. You never hear any of that in a broadcast. Unless it a situation where a player is known for bad decisions (Manti Te Tyrann Mathieu), criticisms are dialed back.

On draft day, even Cade McNown is a future all pro. (AP)

That fine. TV analysts should keep the hope alive. Fans don need to listen to a Billy Packer type raining on the parade. But it be nice to hear some of the bad to go with the good. Keep it realistic. Player X may be great in pursuit, but his work ethic was questioned. Player Z was great in big games, but he didn give as much effort in matchups against inferior competition. No one is perfect, except during NFL draft coverage.

Once the fourth round starts, the networks tend to cover the final rounds by reviewing the first three. We have until July to blindly evaluate top draft picks. Spend Saturday discussing the late round picks Cheap Jerseys instead of reading off their names in between discussions about how Luke Joeckel will bring the Kansas City Chiefs back to NFL glory.

I want to get irrationally excited about the guard from Fresno State the Washington Redskins take in the sixth round. That way, when I talking about the draft with people later in the day, I can say insightful things like, you see that one clip they played of that Fresno lineman? He loves pancakes so much he should live in an IHOP! Then we high five and start planning our Super Bowl victory party.

THIS SHOULDN NEED ANY ADDITIONAL EXPLANATION.

5. More insight into Jets fans and their feelings about picks

The draft takes place in Manhattan and is often attended by fans of the New York Jets. They often feel like a silent majority. Give them a forum to let us know what they think of GM John Idzik and his picks. What are their thoughts on Mark Sanchez? How did the Darrelle Revis trade go over? Maybe play some Ken O word association.
