Call it the most ambitious crossover event ever if you want, but the upshot is the same. Thanos has arrived at Fortnite: Battle Royale, marking both the games' first foray into branded content and, appropriately enough, among the best forays into branded content this aspect of Goldeneye 64. The mode drops the Infinity Gauntlet on the normal Fortnite map and lets one lucky player take on the mantle of the huge supervillain -- till they die. Here's how you can play as the Mad Titan in Fortnite: Battle Royale's Infinity Gauntlet mode.

To start with, you'll have to pick the exceptional style from the menu at the reduced right-hand corner of the display. If you couldn't suss it out, then Infinity Gauntlet is what you're looking for. It's a solo mode, because Thanos isn't actually the squadding type.

With the match chosen, things are going to begin essentially like any other game, so just pick a spot, drop down, and loot up. Whether you'll become Thanos at the start of the game largely comes down to luck: that the Infinity Gauntlet will fall down somewhere on the map, and whoever is nearby will likely go grab it. It shows up on either the radar and map, so anticipate a fight if you are near it. Whoever picks up the Gauntlet transforms into the Mad Titan: enormous, demanding, and powerful.

If you are not Thanos at there, guess what you have to do? Kill Thanos. Easier said than done, of course. Like the Gauntlet prior to him, Thanos appears on both the radar and map, so that he will not be all that hard to find Fortnite Items. He is also larger than a normal player, so it is a bit easier for the aiming-impaired to take a shot at him. Still, do not expect to live. He's got a standard punch, a ray that fires out of his gauntlet, and the ability to leap into the air and slam down using a crackling blue impact. He can also hover there up and fire laser -- he's surprisingly nimble for a such a massive monster.
